CINTA TUAH JEBAT

LOVE OF TUAH & JEBAT

“Cinta Tuah Jebat” is an interdisciplinary performance research project that reinterprets several key scenes depicted in the 1956 film “Hang Tuah” and the 1961 film “Hang Jebat” leading up to the final fight-to-the-death between the legendary Malay warriors and sworn brothers Hang Tuah and Hang Jebat. This work immerses the audience in an quietly evocative experience of flesh, multi-lingual text, video, and sound, to further examine issues (in no particular order) of loyalty, betrayal, faith, revenge, rage, submission, and desire, through the amplification of the eroticism between the two warriors.

Cinta Tuah Jebat is ready and available for international tour/travel.
